I’m not the type of person who is very good at keeping lists and records in general, but I’m especially bad at it when it comes to my garden. I have found a way around my horrible record-keeping and just save my seed orders from year to year. This way I have a record of what I ordered the previous year and, in the case of sites that save orders (which West Coast Seeds does), I can just reorder the same seeds again. I always go through and remove any seeds that didn’t grow well, or that I just didn’t like and add a few new ones for fun.
Many of the 89 in this list are tried and true in my zone 3B garden. I do grow the frost-sensitive ones in my high tunnel and start some early indoors to get a head start on the season, so do keep that in mind if you’re growing in a cool zone.
I’ve made all the seeds clickable to make it easy for you to jump over to the website and check them out!

Thanks for sharing. Most people have their favorites, as do I. I currently use Annapolis Seeds from Nova Scotia, Heritage Harvest seeds from Manitoba, Sage Garden Seeds from Manitoba, Early’s and T&T seeds. Have heard some good things about Prairie Garden Seeds and Northern Seeds as well. I do believe most of these ship to the USA, although I am not positive.
Ordered some new potato varieties from Earth Apples and my Garlic last fall from Alberta growers – John Boy garlic and Kipp garlic.
Trying some of the squash you recommended. Will have to see.
Some more for me to try! 😊
What are the dwarf/micro tomatoes called that you are growing in your amazing grow room?
If you pop over to Ash’s heirloom Seeds, she carries all the ones I plant, plus some more I am looking forward to trying.
I saw your You Tube tour of your pantry last week and I just right on watching, video after video. You are amazing and I enjoy your sharing of yourself, stories about your mom and projects on your ranch! I made bread for the first time yesterday and it could use some improvements, but it’s a start. Mixed up a starter for sourdough today and introduced my girlfriend to your You Tube videos. She is also a canner and makes bread. She was pretty tickled and will access you on her tv at home. We live on the east coast in upstate New York in farm country. I grew up on a farm and weeded many a garden, started my own garden last year. I’m semi-retired so will have the time. How great your kids get along so well and help you out on replenishing supplies from your downstairs pantry!
I’m excited to watch more of your videos and it certainly has improved the gray winter months! It was -18 F here last Friday and 40 degrees the following day! Crazy weather! Love your onion cutting googles! Keep the great work, you are very inspiring!!!!
Thank you so much!
