Ingredients

  • Cinnamon – Cinnamon comes from the inside bark of a Cinnamomum tree. It has a slightly spicy, warm taste. To some it may even have a citrus or fruity taste to it.
  • Ginger – Ginger is an herb. Believe it or not, it comes from the root of a ginger plant. Isn’t it funny how we eat roots of plants like ginger, beets, carrots and radishes? Ginger has a mild spicy flavor.
  • Nutmeg – Nutmeg is derived from the seed of a Myristica tree. Nutmeg produces a mild fruity flavor with some hints of an earthy flavor.
  • Cloves – Clove is a spice that is also derived from a seed. It is part of the dried flower buds of the Syzygium aromaticum tree. It produces an earthly, spicy flavor with a little bitterness and sweetness.
  • Allspice – Allspice is a type of pepper. It is derived from the myrtle pepper tree. It has a unique flavor that tastes like a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. Hence the name allspice.
